In 1983 a business which started from humble beginnings by the ambitions of one man, James Richardson and with the support of his beloved wife, Rowena and his trusty “Ford Escort-Panel van”, expanded into to the Lowveld from Pietermaritzburg into the turbocharge industry as it was becoming more popular and became available to all walks of life. He saw this opportunity as an adventure not only for the Lowveld but also to be able to supply these services from a local area to the surrounding countries such as Mozambique and Swaziland.

As the years went by with many blessings, his vision, and dreams, saw him becoming the distributing agent to names such as GARRETT and soon became the sole Africa Distributor of TEL. With new technologies being developed in the last few years, Turboformance has ventured into the fuel filtration market, becoming the sole distributors for Parker Racor Fuel and water separators in the area. Turboformance expanded their services from purely automotive into the aviation and marine technologies.

Turboformance is a family run business with James being blessed that his son Nick is following in his footsteps. The supporting staff at Turboformance also became part of this extended family. We proud ourselves to always having a solution to any, turbo, vehicle service and fuel filtration problems.
